Gotstyle is opening its second location this fall in the Distillery District

Gentlemen — and now ladies — of Toronto, you can now get style from east to west. Gotstyle, the Bathurst Street menswear store, will open its second location this coming November in the ever-growing Distillery District.

Owner Melissa Austria first opened Gotstyle at Bathurst and Wellington as a full-service menswear store back in 2005, complete with a barber shop and a made-to-measure tailor. In November, she’ll open a new, expanded location at 21 Trinity Street, featuring menswear, womenswear, accessories (for both men and women), a children’s play area and a unisex salon.

“We want to open in time for the Distillery District’s wonderful Christmas market,” Austria  tells us. “But we’ll do an official big opening in the spring.”

The 6,000 square-foot store, with its high ceilings and exposed brick walls, will intermingle the men’s and women’s casual wear on the lower level, along with the accessories. The upper level will house the made-to-measure suite and bridal party fitting area (“Right now, we do more groomsmen, but we’re hoping to have more bridesmaid dresses,” Austria says).

With the salon located downstairs, Austria hopes Gotstyle becomes a place where people can get ready for their nights on the town.

But don’t worry, gentlemen: Gotstyle’s west side location will continue to be a mens-only sanctuary.
