Torono’s insanely popular pop-up taquería La Carnita is a pop-up no longer. As Corey Mintz reports on Toronto.com, La Carnita has found a permanent home at 501 College Street, in the site of the just-closed Briscola Trattoria.
Since August of last year, La Carnita has been generating huge turnouts at pop-up events around the city, announced via Twitter shortly before they occur. The pop-ups were designed to build a social media following and to test Toronto’s love of tacos before potentially opening a storefront (the not-at-all surprising conclusion? Toronto really, really likes tacos).
The 79-seat taquería is expected to be open by June.
