The Victoria Day long weekend is just around the corner! This year, the historic holiday takes place on Monday, May 19, 2025, and there are a few notable places in and around the city where the skies will be lit up with spectacular fireworks to celebrate! Here are a few of our favs:
Ashbridges Bay Park, Toronto
Fireworks begin at 10 pm and will last for about 14 minutes! Ashbridges Bay Park (1561 Lake Shore Boulevard East) is located on Lake Shore Boulevard East at the foot of Coxwell Avenue and is accessible by public transit. Visitors are encouraged to use public transit and leave their cars at home (check the TTC website for info about schedules, routes and long weekend service). For those who do drive, parking is available (two Green P lots can be found at Woodbine Beach and Ashbridges Bay).
Canada’s Wonderland, Vaughan
Start your day at the amusement park and end it with an explosive, custom-designed fireworks display set to an original soundtrack. You won’t have to fight for a perfect spot for the viewing, there will be multiple viewing points throughout the park! The fireworks start at about 10 pm.
Niagara Falls
The Niagara Falls Summer Fireworks Series kicks off for the long weekend and beyond on Friday, May 16 at 10:00 pm. Five-minute fireworks shows will run every night against the backdrop of the falls until Oct. 13, 2025! The best spots to watch the fireworks include right by the falls, at Queen Victoria Park, at the Skylon Tower Observation Deck, while on the Niagara Skywheel, or while dining at the Fallsview Hotel (6361 Fallsview Blvd, Niagara Falls, ON).
Virgil Stampede, Niagara-on-the-Lake
Celebrate the long weekend with rides, games, fun events and great food. Stick around until dark to enjoy the fireworks! Address: Virgil Sports Park (1565 Four Mile Creek Road, Virgil, ON) is about a 1.5-hour drive from Toronto. Takes place Sat. May 17: 10:00 am – 9:00 pm, Sun. May 18: 11:00 am – 8:00 pm, Mon. May 19: 10:00 am – 10:00 pm. Admission: Adults, $5.00 | Children under 10, Free. No backpacks allowed.
Spring into Summer, Kingston
Head to Lake Ontario Park in Kingston (920 King St. West) on May 17 from 1 to 10 p.m.; it’s only about a 2.5-hour drive from Toronto! Celebrate the sun’s rays and warmer days at this free event, featuring a splash pad, concerts, a vendor’s market, food trucks and even a beer garden. End the evening with a spectacular fireworks display over Lake Ontario, starting at 9:30 p.m.
Victoria Day Fireworks, Hamilton
Victoria Day events kick off on Sunday, May 18, with a Music Fest & Kids Fest, an Artisan market, and tons of snacks and food trucks available for purchase! Stick around until dark, fireworks start at about 9:30 pm. Address: Dundas Driving Park (71 Cross St., Dundas, ON). Admission is free, although cash donations are welcome at the gate to support the Rotary Club and its various community initiatives.
Bayview Wildwood Resort, Muskoka
Kick off the summer season at Bayview Wildwood Resort (1500 Port Stanton Pkwy, Severn Bridge, ON) from May 16 to 19. Enjoy live entertainment, delicious food, and an amazing fireworks display by the lake for the perfect Victoria Day Weekend getaway!
May Long Weekend, Blue Mountain
From May 17 to 19, Blue Mountain Village (156 Jozo Weider Blvd, The Blue Mountains, ON) will transform into a street party, filled with cool activities, live music performances and fireworks over Mill Pond!
